Trusting in the Name of God

I love the promise built into this Psalm.

“Those who know Your name trust in You,
for You have not forgotten those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10

God NEVER forgets us. We’re not only chosen and loved, but we are remembered. Doesn’t that just quicken your heart?

As much as I know and love God, sometimes I forget how much He knows and loves me. Rather than seeking surrender, my prayers offer explanation or even justification to a God who knows all things. Instead of leaning in and listening to His voice and promise, I pursue and trust the noise around me. Can you relate?

God backs up His trustworthiness with His name. When we KNOW Him, we CAN trust Him, because He IS God. | Faith | Encouragement | Strength | Bible | Hope | Inspiration

We trust what we know. Sometimes that trust is mishandled and we’re left wounded. I know, that hurts. But when our trust wavers, it’s not because God has.

Our fear, pain, and fickleness are not a reflection of God’s faithfulness.

God backs up His trustworthiness with His name. When we KNOW Him, we CAN trust Him, because He IS God. He is almighty, just, gracious and able—and He NEVER forgets us. We just need to remember the One who remembers us.

Let’s be a people who know WHO we know and believe in the power of His name, the strength of His word, and the value of always seeking to know God more.

What about you? What do you need to trust God with today? How can the power of His name and the promise of His word strengthen You?

By His endless grace,

  1. I struggle to trust God with blogging these days, but I am reminded that God is good. He knows the plan and I just need to let go and trust.

    1. I am right there with you, Rosanna, and taking some time to seek God on this blogging journey. Indeed, He knows the plans. I’m focusing on the process and trusting Him with the results. Thanks for visiting.

  2. I love this: “Our fear, pain, and fickleness are not a reflection of God’s faithfulness.” He is so good to us–always! Thank you for this sweet and encouraging reminder to keep my trust fixed on HIM!

    1. He is so faithful, isn’t He!! I’m so grateful that my attitude and perspective don’t change Gods – or we’d all be in trouble. ;) Thanks for visiting, Bettie. Trusting alongside you!

  3. Psalm 9:10 was my college roommate’s favorite verse in the Bible. I remember her sitting in her bunk bed and reading it to me with such peace on her face. I underlined it in my Bible that day, and I can honestly say all these years later that it’s a sweet promise that will never fail you. He always shows up — we are never forgotten.

    1. What a sweet memory, Lyli. I love that what someone shared with you has stayed with you still. It’s a beautiful promise and a powerful truth. Thanks for visiting, friend.
