Christmas Cinnamon Rolls from Scratch

Merry almost-Christmas, sweet friends. Can you believe we’re only 4-days out from the big day?!

I’m delighted to report that I’ve been quite successful at simplifying Christmas this year and keeping the crazy busyness at bay. I’ve measured my days, slowed my pace, and while there are certainly things yet to be done, I find this Christmas season has been quite peaceful.

That peace came through careful choice and guarded intention, and it’s been one of the greatest gifts to give myself and my family.

Now, that dear family of mine can do without excess decorations, holiday parties, and many of the other trimmings that make Christmas feel hectic, but there is one tradition they will never let go of—Cinnamon Rolls from scratch on Christmas morning!

This is a passed down tradition from my mother-in-law, and one that my husband and son look forward to every single year. Like seriously, they start talking about them at Thanksgiving!

These cinnamon rolls are no joke, 100% not calorie free, and they do take a bit of time.

But here’s what I love about them: they set the pace for our Christmas morning. There are two dough-rising-pauses in this recipe and within one we open our stockings and in the other we see what’s under the tree. We stay in our pajamas, move slowly, and savor the morning—and then these delicious cinnamon rolls.

From my home to yours, I wish you the
merriest of Christmases and the sweetest new year.

I pray that you have and will continue to experience the love of Christ in its fullest measure. I continually stand in awe of His love that forgives deeply, restores lavishly, and provides exceedingly. Our God is most definitively a God of endless grace, and my utmost desire is that each of us would grow to know Him more in every day to come.

I’ll be taking a bit of time off for the holidays to lean in and listen to His voice. I’m eager to hear what God has next for me, and for this sweet space we share. Until 2017, lots of love and many blessings to you!

Merry Christmas!
